VICE - PRESIDENT - Rachel Snyder

Rachel is a proud Wells College graduate (Class of 2011), a seasoned nonprofit professional with over a decade of board experience, and strongly committed to people-first, progressive values. She majored in History at Wells, and holds a Masters of Science in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Rochester

Currently a People Operations Business Partner at Measures for Justice, Rachel collaborates with leadership to create inclusive, engaging, and effective workplaces. Her experience spans organizations like HR Works and Planned Parenthood, where she’s led HR strategy, championed DEIB efforts and developed impactful employee experiences. She holds an aPHR certification and thrives on building cultures of growth and belonging.

In the Wells community, Rachel has served as FARGO Board President (a role in which she launched the successful “It’s Not a Latte” fundraiser). She has managed the ever-growing Wells Alumnae/Alumni & Friends Facebook group for over five years with her trademark blend of creativity, humor, dedication, and heart. Rachel is also a founding member and officer of the Wells Legacy Society, Inc. 

WCA TRUSTEE - Karin A. Gregory, Esq.

Karin is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Blue Highway Capital. She has over 30 years of business experience as an attorney, executive and early stage investor. She spent five years as Vice President at Mass Ventures, an early stage socially responsible venture capital fund focused on urban and rural areas of Massachusetts.

Prior to co-founding Blue Highway, Karin served as Chair of CEI Ventures, a socially responsible impact private equity firm and served on the board of its parent company, Coastal Enterprises, Inc (CEI), a nonprofit lender and investor specializing in rural business and community development, financing and related policy. She has served on numerous for-profit and non-profit boards throughout New England and is a long time member of The Boston Club.

In 2006, Karin co-founded Furman, Gregory Deptula (FGD Law), a full service law firm which represents early-stage technology companies and investors throughout New England.

Karin has extensive contacts throughout the region’s technology, business, and civic communities. She serves on the City of Biddeford’s Downtown Development Commission and was recently appointed to serve on the Federal Reserve Board’s Consumer and Community Council.

Karin holds a B.A. degree from Wells College in Bio-Chemistry and Psychology (Class of 1980), an M.P.H. from Boston University in Health Services, and a J.D. degree from UNH School of Law, as well as a certificate in Advanced Licensing, an Executive MBA from Babson College and a Certificate in Financial Management from Cornell University. A founding member and officer of the Wells Legacy Society, Inc., Karin is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and in Maine.

MEMBER-AT-LARGE - Maggie Mahr

Maggie is a communications professional who believes deeply in the power of community-driven work and collective action. She holds a Master of Science in Communications from Ithaca College and a B.A. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a  minor in Theatre from Wells College (Class of 2011). 

Since 2015, Maggie has served as the Promotions and Marketing Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates County, where she leads marketing and outreach efforts that connect residents to essential programs and resources. Her work has been honored with statewide recognition from the New York State Association of Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H Educators and regional recognition from the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents.

Maggie also serves as Secretary for the Wells Legacy Society, a non-profit organization formed on May 15, 2024, by a group of committed Wells College alums in response to the college’s abrupt closure announcement on April 29th. Like the organization, she is dedicated to preserving the legacy, values, and historical significance of Wells College. Maggie is committed to clear communication, creative problem-solving, and advocacy for community-building institutions.
